Kirsty Lorenz works from her unusual artists studio in the 'Old First Aid Rooms - Artist Studio', Platform 2, Ladybank Station, Ladybank, Fife. The A-listed Victorian railway station in the rural Howe of Fife is still functioning on the Edinburgh-Dundee line and Perth Circular, providing regular links both north and south. With support from The Railway Heritage Trust, Fife Council, Business Gateway, Scotrail and Network Rail , Kirsty has been able to renovate unused rooms in the A-listed victorian buildings on platform 2 to become her new artists studio. The characterful 'Old First Aid Rooms' with their old fireplaces and windows onto the platform were boarded up having been un-used for many years. The rooms now have a new lease of life as a bright, interesting studio from which Kirsty paints her flower paintings , runs art / craft classes and workshops, and hosts occasional exhibitions and open studio events. The studios will have an official celebratory launch with an Open Studio - Launch Weekend on Saturday 26th and Sunday 27th September, open from 11am - 4pm. Come and have a viewing of the space, the paintings, meet the artist and have light refreshments. There is ample parking in or around Ladybank Station, or of course you could get the train !
