For the same weekend as North Fife Open Studios, I am also part of ‘The Artline’ Open Doors Weekend 7th & 8th May 2016, 10am – 6pm. The Artline lies on the Edinburgh to Dundee main railway line in Fife, from North Queensferry to Cupar.
During the Artline Open Doors weekend the focus will be on the station buildings and adjacent venues which people can easily access travelling by train. The visitor will discover an interesting selection of paintings, poetry, jewellery and artefacts of bygone days.
There are stories of restoration. Many of the buildings are listed and care has been taken to ensure that period features are retained or reinstated. This is largely due to ScotRail’s Adopt a Station scheme and the Railway Heritage Trust but individuals and groups have also played a vital part. More info on http://www.theartline.co.uk/
